R.L. Stine was born Robert Lawrence Stine on 8th October 1943 in Ohio, USA, to Lewis Stine and Anne Feinstein.
His father, Lewis Stine, a shipping clerk in a warehouse, and mother, Anne Feinstein, a homemaker. He belongs to a Jewish family. He has a brother, Bill and a sister, Pam who are younger than him.
