York was brought up in Los Angeles, California alongside her younger siblings Wendy and Thomas York by her mother Trina.

She got her breakthrough as an actress with her 2nd film Cheaper by the Dozen in 2003. Morgan was only 10 years old at the time and she had been cast alongside the likes of various well-known stars including Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, Hilary Duff, Tom Welling, and Piper Perabo. Later, in 2005, she appeared alongside actor Vin Diesel in The Pacifier.

She had started acting when she was 9 years old.

When she started college, she realized that she didn’t want to resume her acting career.

In 2010, Morgan announced her retirement from acting after the completion of the 4th season of Hannah Montana.
